Frequently Asked Questions
Who is operating the course?
For the 2020 season, the City of Frankfort has contracted Shoup’s Country Foods to take over management of the Frankfort Commons Golf Course. Shoup’s has been a staple name in the Frankfort Community for over 40 years, and has been contracted due to our outstanding resume in customer service, and our close proximity to the Commons Course, having owned Arborwood, an event venue located within the course grounds, since 2014.
Though we’re new to the Golf game in terms of business, many staff members, including new General Manager Jesse Cacy, enjoy hitting the balls around any chance we get! Our main focus with the Frankfort Commons is the upkeep of customer service, and putting our Golfers first. We welcome suggestions from the community, and hope to grow the course together with those that make it special to the City of Frankfort.
What changes can we expect to the course?
Previous approaches put a great deal of focus on the greens themselves. We plan to maintain the quality you’ve come to love, while putting a larger emphasis on the service we give. With a newly renovated Club House, updated pro shop and grill area, and a new area for relaxation and camaraderie, we hope to bring our well-known sense of family and togetherness to the Commons.
And since food is what we’ve perfected over the last 40 years, we’ve updated our menu! Take a look at our new food options to plan your next meal – whether it’s after the 18th hole, or just your new favorite lunch spot!
Are prices going up?
We are trying some new things and will offer different packages and memberships, but the short answer is NO! We are as committed as ever to providing great golf and great value. We need to grow revenue to make the course more financially sustainable for the long term, so we are going to be creative in attracting new business and increasing participation. The best way to do that is to provide a great product at a fair price.
